This will be the night the Grateful Fridays series goes electric. We’re bringing in a full-on Grateful Dead tribute band, just in time to warm up for Jerry Days—but done in full Magic Theatre style.

The band includes:

They’ll be playing a high-energy electric set in the Black Box, and we’ll open the night with a performance by Kyle Alden and friends.

Also featured: a special reading from poet Norman Zelaya, honoring the late Rory McNamara. It’s a new piece grounded in the poetry of the Mission, commissioned by Stone Literary Foundation—a tribute within a tribute.

One important note: this may be the final Grateful Friday in the series, depending on whether the rights come through for Jerry Garcia in the Lower Mission. So this evening carries a certain poignancy—a night to celebrate what’s been, and maybe what’s still to come
