Join Nassim Soleimanpour (White Rabbit Red Rabbit, Nassim) and the Theatre Machine for a one-day playwrighting workshop! Do not miss this opportunity to work one on one with Nassim. The workshop is capped at 15 participants, so grab a spot before they're gone!
About the Workshop:
What is a machine? A device that requires an input, has an automatic process, and results
in an output. Soleimanpour applies the theory of machines to his education curriculum where the courses themselves are "teaching machines."
Workshops include a combination of physical and verbal games and activities that
expand one's understanding of Soleimanpour's creative process. Participants are asked
to contribute creatively, becoming the “input” of Soleimanpour’s process or “machine.”
The “output” or course goals vary depending on the length of the course.
At the conclusion of a One-Day course, participants will learn what a “theatre machine”
is and will dive into Soleimanpour’s personal process and some of the machine’s that he
uses in his own writing. Participants will be taught smaller “machines” (games, activities,
etc.) that can be combined and used together to create different creative story telling
When: Saturday, September 26th, 10a-2p PST
• High speed internet with web cam and voice capabilities. We use Zoom for our online courses. We
highly recommend that you test your web cam and voice and familiarize yourself with Zoom prior
to the course.
• Laptop or desktop computer. We recommend participating through a computer. If you do not
have access to a computer and will be accessing the workshop through your phone, you will need
to download the Zoom app.
• Headphones. Please plan to use headphones for the duration of the workshop. This will be
necessary to reduce background noise.
• Twenty blank pieces of paper and a sharpie. If you do not have access to a sharpie, a pen will do
