Rod Gnapp's delightful and powerful presence has been a mainstay on Magic's stage for years - today, he talks with us about loving his (fictional, dysfunctional) family and farting onstage.
If you could play another character in Fool who would you choose? Why?
I guess if I could play another character in Fool it would have to be May. I know I'm not pretty enough, but I'd like to explore my softer side a little.
What are you most looking forward to about this production?
Sitting in my rocking chair watching my kids kick some ass.
What has the rehearsal process been like for you?
Really good. Very relaxing. It's a family story.
Have you been in other Shepard plays? Which ones?
I've been in True West, Curse of the Starving Class, Buried Child, and this one.
Anything can happen with live performance, do you have a funny moment/embarrassing memory to share?
I farted once on stage, and went up on my lines really bad.
