Remembering WHY WE HAVE A BODY with Jeff Rowlings

Jeff Rowlings, the scenic designer for Magic’s world premiere of Why We Have A Body in 1993, tells about his experience eighteen years later:

I know that this was one of my favorite shows in my decade at the Magic. It was special because it was the right play at the right time with the right artists in the right theater in the right city. It spoke to SF audiences in ways that I find SF audiences unique. It touched so many feelings and experiences. It was one of the most re-affirming plays about life and love that I’ve ever done. It was just special and people connected with it. When you see audiences have that kind of connection to a piece of theater… it just sends chills up my spine and reaffirms why I (we) do this.

You can still catch Magic’s legacy revival of Why We Have A Body. The show runs through October 2nd, and you can purchase your tickets here!
